Movis Jettes is a mid-size house of the Network — some fifty million years in the business of growing customers. It calls itself a gardener and means it literally: where a parent corporation plants a species in a prepared system and tends it toward Citizenship, Movis Jettes is one of the hands that does the planting. Its catalog is the apparatus of that trade — Network implants, intelligence cores, and the drones they pilot — sold in a chipper brochure voice whose lethal clauses live in the footnotes. Out here its hardware turns up wherever an occupation bought its thinking and its labor off the shelf; the gardener’s writ runs thin this far from the Network, but its tools long outlast the gardens.
